The year 2000 has been tremendously exciting for Miraculum.

We have launched our company, concluded deals with our first buyers and suppliers, moved offices, increased our staff complement from 4 to over 30 and processed the first transactions through our electronic marketplace, Miraculum Xchange.

South Africa is clearly one of the world economies in which B2B e-procurement is exploding. Analysts conservatively expect the market to grow from its current level of several million rand a year to R10-billion within the next two years.

But we don’t need market analysts to tell us about the heartening level of interest and excitement our activities are generating.  The momentum we’ve generated in our start-up months is accelerating - keeping us all very busy!

Miraculum could not have come as far as it has in this new and exciting B2B space without the enthusiastic involvement of our shareholders, partners and customers. Together, we are creating a vibrant online South African business community with access to world beating technology and the new business models that they foster, helping to make our customers more competitive, globally.

We look forward to an exciting and challenging 2001 during which we will continue to pursue our vision of becoming South Africa’s leading online business applications service provider.

Internet web-based technology enables greater transparency across the entire supply chain, which if managed correctly can ensure greater efficiencies in meeting the more stringent demand levels associated with the New Economy.

It enables you to shrug off the constraints and inefficiencies of a fragmented supply chain legacy, which includes sourcing and procurement activities, product design, production planning, materials handling, order processing, inventory management, transportation, warehousing and customer service, performance related issues and more.

Harnessing the web will fundamentally alter the nature of communications between trading partners. But - the Internet is only a conduit.  It’s an enabler, which provides the base information needed to manage and control your supply chain more effectively.   What the Internet doesn’t and cannot do is apply best procurement practice.

And adoption of best procurement practice means achieving breakthroughs in:

·          Responsiveness;
·          Efficiencies;
·          Cost Management;
·          Customer service; and
·          Value-add.

Visionary companies are rapidly adopting the option of best procurement practice and will derive the benefit of first mover advantage.

This will enable them to set new benchmarks in terms of standards of efficiency, effectiveness, communications and value, creating new paradigms in every sphere of business. Correct deployment of these new paradigms will allow for the realisation of all the business benefits companies around the world constantly strive for: competitive advantage, global competitiveness, access to multiple distribution channels, and clear, transparent communication with all trading partners which in turn should lead to greater effectiveness and efficiencies.

The benefits delivered are around accurate and timeous information, supporting the ability to collaborate across the supply chain.  Commercial and contractual risk management is substantially improved, as the audit trail is clearly evidenced and easily accessible, resulting in enhanced transparency and integrity.    Because the transactions are online, issues relating to geographical placement are eliminated as time delays in the transformation of information and the need for physical representation are reduced.  A myriad of support information is available online enabling end users to track, trace and expedite.  Supply web offers end user the ability to manage as opposed to being dictated to.  This reduces process inefficiencies and enhances productivity as the administrative elements are removed across the supply chain.  Improved financial controls result in cost efficiencies; improved service levels and increased competitive advantage. This enhanced collaboration has positive benefits for all members across the supply web.

By selecting an eProcurement partner that offers a combination of both leading-edge Internet technology and best-practice procurement, you too will be well positioned to take advantage of the New Economy.

“While e-procurement is clearly the way of the future, not all e-marketplaces are assured of success.  Miraculum’s unique business model, coupled with the strength of its shareholder base which have given the exchange instant critical mass, and the proven power the Oracle platform which supports the exchange, will ensure that Miraculum Xchange will be one of the e-marketplace winners in SA,”

Michael Tame
Divisional Director – Special Projects Management Services Division, Ince

“We are very excited about our first transactions going through Miraculum Xchange.  The support and enthusiasm from the Miraculum team has been great.  This is definitely the way forward.”
