Miraculum started its life as a Joint Venture between four of South Africa's corporate Heavyweights, namely Old Mutual, Nedcor Limited, Dimension Data plc and the J&J Group. The purpose of the JV was to develop a South African capability in the ASP (Application Service Provider) space, focusing initially on Procurement.

The JV took three years to reach its initial objectives, including operational self-sufficiency. This was reached in September 2003.

At that stage the ownership was consolidated with 50,1% of the company being incorporated directly into the wider J&J Group, and the remainder placed with the Management and Staff.

Today, Miraculum is proud to be an integral part of the J&J Group, fully committed to the Business, Social and Transformational objectives that is to be expected of every company sharing in the South African economy.
